Commercial Ramps FAQs
How does the ordering process work? (commercial ramps only)
We begin with a free consultation where we discuss the needs of your project and review any plans, photos, or technical specifications you may have. What follows is an official quote. Once you approve the quote and we receive a purchase order, we will begin drawings for your approval. Once the drawings are approved, our team begins production. Production times vary greatly (one week to three weeks) depending on the size of the ramp and our workload at the time. We then schedule delivery to your job site. A forklift may be necessary, depending on the ramp size.
Can I submit my drawings and specs online?
Yes, our Quote Page allows files to be uploaded and shared with our estimators.
You can also email them to info@disabilitysystems.com
Measuring for a commercial ramp:
The ramp length needed to meet federal ADA guidelines will be one foot of ramp for every inch of rise. This is a baseline formula. Other factors include ground slope and state-specific regulations.
The requirements for the width of the ramp will vary from 36 inches minimum usable width to 48 inches usable width, depending on which state the ramp is installed. Custom widths are also available. Check with your building department for local ADA code requirements.
What are the ramps made of?
Ramps are manufactured using high-quality aluminum.
What size platforms do I need?
Platform sizes are determined on a job-by-job basis. However, the minimum platform size on a turn (An L-shaped ramp, for instance) is 60” x 60”.
How long does the whole process take?
Once the quote for your commercial ramp is approved, drawings can take up to ten days to complete. Once you approve the drawings, production can take up to three weeks. Shipping times will vary depending on delivery location and may take up to one week.
Can ramps be returned?
Standard, unused ramps may be returned, subject to 25% restocking fee. You are required to pay for all shipping associated with the original delivery and return of the product.
Shipping?
Shipping will be added to the cost of the ramp. Your quote will include the cost of shipping as a separate line item. We typically ship our products on 5′ and 10′ skids via freight carriers such as FedEx. A forklift or loading dock is recommended. Customers can hand unload a pallet, but the freight companies could charge extra if unloading is not completed within a reasonable timeframe.
