216-RK Infrared Retrofit Germ Free Touchless Switch Designed for Hospitals and Clean rooms
The 216-RK is a retrofit kit designed to allow the use of the 216 “Touchless” infrared switches as a replacement for existing push-plate switches, without the need for additional wiring.
Upgrading automatic door push buttons to touchless switches has
traditionally been a difficult process. In the past, infrared touch-less
switches have required four wires, two for power and two for activation,
while mechanical switches only require two activation wires. Therefore,
upgrading to touch-less switches has required costly wire runs.
The
216-RK is a new version of the 216 infrared touchless switch designed to
operate off of two wires, with a module placed in the header. Two 216-RK
switches (one on each side of the door) are wired to this module, along with
a power source (12-24 V AC or DC) and an activation output.
Touchless, hands-free (germ free) operation is what makes this retrofit kit a perfect,
low cost solution for handicap accessibility, hospital operating rooms,
cleanrooms and Knowing Act Doors. Other applications include bathroom door
and other cleanroom door activation where a germ free environment is
required.
